Prenatal Sessions

Amelie Cousineau Maternite1

You are expecting a baby? Congratulations!

Your family will soon have a new addition.

Seeing as parents have access to a wide range of information these days,

the Prenatal and Young Family Center proposes a new, redesigned

type of prenatal course. The objectives of the course are to

support, inform, reassure, share, teach, involve, inspire and

satisfy the needs of each couple attending the course.

We help prepare you for the birth of your child, favouring the involvement of both parents,

which implies teamwork, informed choices and becoming confident in your role as parents.

The group facilitator (Sara Harvey) will discuss all things related to pregnancy and the day of baby’s

birth via interactive conversations with group members, making sure to address the needs

of everyone present. Practical workshops complete the preparation

course in order to integrate what has been learned and apply it during the birth process.

The course includes:

      • * A 3-hour workshop about the actual day of the baby’s birth where we discuss the « team » aspect of the birth. We suggest that you attend this workshop around the 30th week of pregnancy. This workshop is given every two months, on Sunday. Dates will be offered during your registration.

Theory, but also a lot of practice dealing with the day of birth. Tools to manage contractions, massage, birthing ball, pressure points, breathing, visualization and ambiance are just some of the topics discussed during this session. The goal is to unite and form a "team" on the big day; parents and baby.

Cost : 45 $ plus taxes ***One subscription per couple***
